Mr. Werkmeister is a former investment banking analyst with the Corporate Finance and Asset Backed Finance Divisions of Citigroup. Bill's M&A transactions include Vivendi's sale of Houghton Mifflin Publishing (€1.75bn) and ABB's disposition of its Vetco Grey and Offshore Systems Divisions ($925mm). Bill also advised on 14 public and private asset backed transactions totaling $7.0bn for issuers including American Express, Sallie Mae, Honda, General Electric, and Origen Financial.
After leaving Citigroup, Mr. Werkmeister was Director of the Treasury Department at Newtek Small Business Finance, Inc., where he oversaw Newtek's SBA 7(a) trading operations and managed the firm's daily cash balance and revolving credit facilities. Bill was also Assistant Vice President of Newtek Securities, LLC, where he assisted on the structuring, placement, and closing of Newtek's CAPCO transactions.
Mr. Werkmeister graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management and a specialization in Finance. He was named a USAA Academic All-American and awarded the Cyril F. Crowe Prize, one of the department's highest honors. Mr. Werkmeister was President of Cornell's Bowling Club and a captain of Cornell's club team. He is currently pursuing a Professional Certification in Structured Finance from New York University.
